A suicide bomber rammed a car packed with explosives into a convoy carrying a delegation of Qatar, in Mogadishu, Somalia, Sunday (05/05/2013). At least eight people were killed and seven others injured in the incident.

Hassan, who witnessed the suicide bomb attack, said the dead were
located at the intersection of a busy street in the Somali capital. Previous reports said that the Interior Minister of Somalia in the convoy, but the information is denied.
Spokesperson Somali Prime Minister and Police Commissioner Ahmed Adan Abdi Warsame said, no convoy members were injured in the attack. Islamic radical group, Al Shabaab, claimed responsibility for the bombing and said also that six soldiers were killed and nine others wounded.
"The Mujahideen martyred while performing operations in Mogadishu Somalia targeting Interior Minister in the convoy," the militant group claims in a pro-Al Shabaab website. Some of the main roads in and around the capital had previously been closed by government forces following the deadly threat of Al Shabaab attacks. Location suicide bombing that was just reopened a few days before the attack.
The latest attacks came two days ahead of Somalia conference in London, England, which was attended by the President of Somalia Sheikh plans Hassan Mohamud. During the meeting, scheduled to be presented plans to rebuild Somalia's government and the country's military force as a whole to expect international support.
Al Shabaab have launched several attacks recently in Somalia. Last month, at least 10 armed militants forced their way into the court building in Mogadishu, killing 29 people. In the attack, the attacker detonated several explosives and other attackers clashed with local security forces. At least nine attackers were killed in the incident.
